Note from Matt

For just about my entire life, I have been immersed into the sports and strength and conditioning world. Baseball became my biggest passion growing up. I had an arm injury in high school which led to my first Tommy John elbow surgery. After rehabbing back from that, I went to Indiana University, where I played on the college baseball team as a left handed pitcher. During my time at IU, I had many achievements including : All Big Ten Honors, Hold Strikeout Records, and helped propel the Hoosiers to a regional appearance. In 2009, after my junior season, I was drafted by the Minnesota Twins in the first round. Another arm injury led to another Tommy John surgery and more rehab. I was picked up by the New York Yankees where I played for their AA minor league team. When my baseball career ended sooner than expected due to those injuries, I decided to return to IU to finish my degree, but this time switching to Physical Therapy. I went on to receive my Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Indianapolis. To further my knowledge in sports and orthopedic injuries, I completed a residency to become an Orthopedic Certified Specialist.

If I only knew what I know now. If I could go back in time, there is a lot I would change about how I trained, recovered, and performed. I have since learned a great deal about the body - how important specific, purposeful training, and recovery are. While I made it far in my athletic career, injury stopped me from reaching and showing my full potential. I would love to share with you all that I have learned and help guide, develop, and train you to assist you on your path of reaching your optimal potential.

WHY CASH-BASED?

OMI is an out of network provider, meaning we do not directly accept insurance. However, you can contact your insurance company and ask, “what are my out of network physical therapy benefits?” Many times they may reimburse you for some or even all of your PT services. We will provide the information you need to share with your insurance company to get reimbursed. OMI practices this way because we work for you, not insurance companies. This allows us to treat and spend the time with you that you deserve!
