BASEBALL INJURY REHABILITATION
Dr. Matt Bashore has experience working with injured and healthy baseball players of all ages and at all levels. Dr. Matt Bashore understands that the demands of baseball players, especially pitchers, are unique and require an evaluation and treatment plan specific to the sport.
HOW CAN OMI HELP?
Baseball specific evaluation to identify the painful tissue, severity of the injury, and what the underlying cause of the injury is.
Early identification and treatment plans can prevent the injury from developing into a more serious problem.
OMI will help determine if you need to stop throwing and rest your arm, rehab, or visit a doctor. It is important you visit a doctor specializing in baseball injuries to get the best treatment and OMI can help you with that process.
We will get you back to throwing and competing on the field as soon as possible with a precise rehab plan and individualized throwing program.
OMI is up to date and follows the most advanced rehab plans for post operative surgeries (Tommy John, SLAP repair, and others).
DID YOU KNOW?
Prior to becoming a Physical Therapist, Dr. Matt Bashore was a professional baseball pitcher. Additionally, he has undergone 3 elbow surgeries during his playing days. Progressing through the baseball levels and rehabbing from 3 surgeries has provided him experiences and information that many have not encountered. These experiences allow Dr. Bashore to better relate and understand the pressures and demands baseball players are under.
POST-GAME FLUSH
If you are looking for a way to reduce arm soreness, accelerate recovery, and keep the throwing arm healthy throughout the baseball season, OMI has the answer with Post-Game Flush.
After pitching, the throwing arm gets stiff, inflamed, and congested. The next 24-36 hours are critical to start the recovery process for a healthy throwing arm and to be ready for your next outing. A passive approach, like putting ice on your arm, not only doesn’t help with the recovery process, but it actually hinders it. Icing slows done the ability of the body to get nutrients to the iced area, as well as the congestion out.
OMI’s Post-Game Flush sessions accelerate the recovery process by restoring tissue quality and range of motion, flushing post-game throwing arm congestion, and amplifying the body’s recovery response.
Post-Game Flush is the catalyst you need to recover from your last outing and be ready for your next!
How Can OMI’s Post-Game Flush Help?
Restore tissue quality and health at a cellular level.
Restore throwing arm muscle and joint range of motion.
Reduce tendon and ligament inflammation.
Decongest post-game fullness by increasing fluid movement via the vascular and lymphatic systems.
Increase blood flow to throwing arm tissues for increased healing.
Signal the human body to amplify the healing process.
Reduce throwing arm pain and soreness.
Increase the throwing arms capacity for stress and load.
Improve readiness for next outing on the mound.
Improved performance due to reduced soreness/pain and improved tissue quality.

BASEBALL TRAINING PROGRAMS
VFP and VPP are the perfect programs for baseball players looking to improve their strength, mobility, power, and movement quality specific to the throwing motion. Often, baseball players follow weight training programs that were designed for football players. These program do not carry over to the throwing motion and can even limit throwing performance and increase risk for injury. Baseball players need to train in the frontal and transverse plane, as well as in the overhead positions, to develop strong back leg drive, explosive rotary power, hip-shoulder separation, rotator cuff control, and shoulder stability. VFP and VPP has all this and more.
Velocity Foundation Program (VFP)
Perfect for the youth baseball player.
Designed to build foundational strength and power
Specific to overhead athletes needing rotational competency.
Optimize performance and reduce risk for injury.
Velocity Plus Program (VPP)
Progression of VFP and meant for the more advanced and proficient baseball player. High School/College
Progressive overload with baseball specific strength & conditioning
Exposure to advanced arm care training to build throwing arm strength, dynamic stability, and power.
